We are very pleased and proud to have supported the 10k for Jay in memory of Jay O'Callaghan. In 2020, Jay sadly passed away at the age of 28 after suffering a heart attack caused by undiagnosed Coronary artery atherosclerosis.

Jay was the brother-in-law of Jordan Barrett, one of Capital's most experienced and respected Operators.

Alongside his father Shaun - a supervisor at Capital - Jordan set out to raise money for three defibrillators to distribute to football teams in the Splott area of Cardiff; Capital's home of 40 years. Around 50 people walked from Splott to Cardiff Bay in Jay's memory, remarkably raising enough money to purchase 10 defibrillators. On top of this, a machine has been donated from the proceeds of a local boxing match and we were delighted to further add to the total with a defibrillator financed by Capital. These 12 machines will now be distributed to sports clubs and shopping areas within the Cardiff and Barry area.

We are sure you will agree that this an amazing achievement by the Barrett family and a very fitting way to celebrate and remember a life tragically cut short.
